What Is A Healthy Church ? – With Jonathan Leeman
What is a healthy church? What does it mean for us to be healthy members of our churches? Are our measures of success shaped by the culture or by God’s word? Join us for a conference with Jonathan Leeman of 9Marks to hear what Scripture has to say about how we live together as the people of God.
Date : 17th July 2017
Speaker : Dr Jonathan Leeman
After studying political science at the undergraduate and graduate levels, Jonathan began his career in journalism as an editor for an international economics magazine. Upon his affirmation to Christian ministry, he earned a master of divinity and a Ph.D. in theology and worked as an interim pastor. Today, Jonathan is the editorial director of 9Marks, a ministry that exists to equip church leaders with a biblical vision and practical resources for displaying God’s glory to the nations through healthy churches.
This conference was a joint brotherly effort of 3 pastors : Eugene Low (Grace Baptist Church), Andrew Goh (Kay Poh Road Baptist Church) and Wei En Yi (Shalom Church)

Adult Christian Education : The Book of Hebrews
We will be studying the New Testament book of Hebrews in our ACE starting 1st Jan 2017.
Why study Hebrews ?
- From a theological standpoint, Hebrews unite the Old and the New Testament to present to us a single plan of God for salvation, revealed and manifested in stages in history and finally completed through His Son Jesus Christ.
- The epistle of Hebrews provide for us keys for understanding and interpreting Old Testament passages and practices.
- Like the Jewish Christians, we too have challenges to our faith that very often prompt us to “give up” or to be apathetic to living a full Christian life.
- We have a fatal attraction to forms of religion and use them as substitutes for our salvation and like the first audience we need to learn, be convinced and be comforted that Jesus is all-sufficient for life and salvation.
- With Jesus Christ as our great High Priest, how then can we go on to live a genuine Christian life!
